During one of today's morning meetings, I got a message from my family telling me that my father has tested positive for coronavirus. I carried on the meeting, which I was leading, with nary an emotion surfacing. I knew it would happen and I had thought about it often before. This moment has already been lived many times, so many that it has the flavor of memory, rather than the current reality. After my mother died, my father's mind slipped away slowly and now he exists in my memory only. Probably soon, is body will also go. To lose one's parents is to become lonely and that is what I felt today, that sense that one is really alone.
