Na ressaca da Segunda Guerra Mundial, a Europa começa a sua caminhada rumo a um futuro melhor.
A mesma ressaca em que é criado Pink, personagem cuja vida é explorada ao longo do álbum The Wall.
Pink. Europa. Um abstracto, o outro concreto. Um imaginado, o outro real.
Duas entidades em dimensões diferentes.
E, ao olhar para trás, duas entidades seguindo caminhos surrealmente paralelos.

Em 1950 é fundada a Comunidade Europeia do Carvão e do Aço (CECA), e em 1957, o Tratado de Roma cria a Comunidade Económica Europeia (CEE).

Em 20 de Julho de 1963, a CEE assina o seu primeiro grande acordo internacional de assistência a 18 antigas colónias africanas.

Em 1973, a Dinamarca, a Irlanda e o Reino Unido juntam-se à CEE.

A primeira eleição para o Parlamento Europeu por sufrágio directo e universal acontece em Junho de 1979.

A Grécia junta-se à CEE em 1981, seguida por Portugal e pela Espanha em 1986.
Em 1986 é assinado o Acto Único Europeu.

Entretanto, em 1985, a Gronelândia abandona a CEE.

Em 1989 cai o muro de Berlim. Dois anos mais tarde dá-se o colapso da União Soviética.

Em 1992 é assinado o Tratado de Maastricht. A CEE passa a a UE.

No início de 2002, as notas e moedas de Euro começam a circular na zona Euro.

Em 2011 Portugal segue as pisadas da Grécia e da Irlanda que, no ano anterior, tinham assinado planos de resgate com a troika, abrindo as portas à austeridade.
